Experience behind the work

We’ve sat in the seat. We know what the work asks of leaders.

Christina Hachikian and Kelly Powers have worked together for more than a decade. Both have led social impact organizations and now bring that operating experience directly into client teams.

Christina Hachikian

Christina Hachikian is a fractional executive working with both nonprofit and for-profit social ventures to deliver results and drive social change. She specializes in working hand in hand with leadership teams in times of transition and growth, leveraging her background in finance, entrepreneurship, and academia. She launched her consultancy in 2021, drawing upon more than 25 years of experience working in dynamic social impact environments. As a recognized thought leader, she has presented to audiences across the globe, taught classes at a world-class business school, and was recognized in Crain’s Chicago list of 40 Under 40 in 2019.

Christina’s drive comes from a deep-seated belief in the power of social ventures to rectify the systems that negatively affect people’s lives. Her greatest professional fulfillment comes from engineering social impact ideas into viable business models. Interim LeadershipStriveTogether
Stronger through transition

Protected momentum through a consequential COO transition.

Moment
When StriveTogether's COO left, the organization was implementing a bold multi-year strategy, growing its team, and could not pause the work.
Hatch Gemini’s role
Hatch Gemini provided interim COO leadership across operational, financial, and people priorities; mentored the operations team; kept daily work moving; advanced strategic initiatives; and supported the search for and onboarding of a new COO.
What changed
What was expected to last several months became a partnership of more than a year, creating a smooth path to permanent leadership and a stronger organization on the other side.

We didn't just survive the transition. We came through it stronger.

Jennifer Blatz, President and CEO, StriveTogether
Fractional CapacityAutonomyWorks
Senior finance, flexibly scaled

Made finance a strategic part of a growing business.

Moment
AutonomyWorks had tripled in size, but its management team was thin and transactional finance work still depended heavily on the CEO. The organization needed senior financial leadership without the cost of a full-time COO.
Hatch Gemini’s role
A fractional COO joined the management team, brought an experienced perspective to its operating rhythm, built foundational processes and a management dashboard, transferred those systems to internal operations, and served as a sounding board to the CEO.
What changed
The organization gained higher-quality financial leadership at a lower overall cost, changed at a pace the team could manage, and adjusted the level of support as its needs evolved.

We were able to get a talented COO for a fraction of the cost of a full-time person.

Supporting a Critical Transition

Partnering with the board to ensure a supported leadership transition.

Moment
Special Children's Charities was navigating leadership transition, strategic planning, leadership needs, and the search for a new Executive Director. The Board needed clarity, structure, and steady guidance through a consequential set of decisions.
Hatch Gemini’s role
Hatch Gemini created a thoughtful decision framework, helped the Board stay focused on the bigger picture, led an organized and communicative search grounded in a deep understanding of the role, and continued as a trusted sounding board during the new Executive Director's onboarding.
What changed
The organization gained stability and direction during the transition, the search felt more manageable, and the incoming Executive Director entered a complex leadership role with continued strategic support.

What stood out most to me was the stability Hatch Gemini helped create during that transition. That work gave us a thoughtful framework for making decisions and helped us stay focused on the bigger picture.
